Yes, Sister Friend is an inclusive, safe, and brave space for all who identify as female, femme, girl, and/or young woman. A space that cultivates sisterhood, the teachings and practices of increasing self-esteem, and leadership skills. Over a decade ago, while working with Miami LGBTQ-identified youth, Alina conceived the idea of Yes Sister Friend (YSF). Recognizing the lack of safe spaces for young womxn to gather, connect, and empower each other, Alina embraced the challenge of creating something to fill the void. Alina pulled on her background as a licensed clinical social worker working with young people and collaborated with members of her own community. And YSF was born!
