Enacting the Kingdom

from St. Luke Anglican Church · host Kolby Kerr

Guest preacher and friend of St. Luke, Fr. Kolby Kerr powerfully preached about the tendency to “run out the clock” in our walks with Jesus after receiving salvation through faith. Drawing on Matthew 21 and Philippians 2, Kolby pointed us to the road of the Christian life, one of faithful diligence and presence on the road to heaven. He helpfully used the “running out the clock” metaphor from a sports team’s tendency to stall once they realize they are ahead, when instead he shows how Jesus calls us to a more baseball-way-of-life, one where we are called to play the game and get all of the outs.
