Encore | Memorials and the Meaning of Memory, Part 2

Why do we make memorials? Why and what do we memorialize? How do memorials from the past influence our present and shape our future? Given the prominence of memorials to the lives lost during the 9/11 attacks, as well as our own National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial, honoring officers lost in the line of duty, it’s worth taking a step back to consider what role these memorials play in our lives.
