Encountering God: God's Word | Richard Brown

How does the Word of God make us the people He intends us to be? As we look at the children of Israel on their journey from Egypt to the Promised Land, God gloriously delivered his people and provided for their needs. But for many of them, the stubbornness and hardness of their own hearts meant that they did not receive all that God was offering them. In this sermon we welcome guest speaker Richard Brown, as he asks the question - What lessons can we learn today so that our lives experience an encounter with God’s word that brings the right response? About Richard: Richard has spoken several times previously at HumeRidge. He spent his working life in education having started his career as a Maths teacher. For many years he was the Principal of Toowoomba Christian College until he retired in 2022. He has a deep love of the Word of God and enjoys bringing the truths found in the scriptures to life. Now that he has more time on his hands he is actively researching in the area of a ‘Christian school in the liberal arts tradition’.
