Encountering Nurse Catherine Pine and the Militant Suffragette Movement - a Conversation with Hedvig Kovács (June 16, 2026)

from Ethics-Talk: The Greatest Good of Man is Daily to Converse About Virtue

On International Women’s Day, the Florence Nightingale Museum in London launched a special exhibit on Nurse Catherine Pine (1864-1941) that runs until October 4, 2026 . Joining us is Hedvig Kovács, a graduate of Westminster University’s Masters Program in Museums, Galleries, and Contemporary Culture, and former intern at the Florence Nightingale Museum. Hedvig researched and created the “In Focus” exhibit on Nurse Pine. In this show, we talk with Hedvig’s learning journey into the militant suffrage movement, stimulated by Nurse Catherine Pine’s decision to bequeath her suffragette medal to be used for educational purposes
