Before joining Wheaton, she spent a decade in microfinance, refugee resettlement, community development, and teaching. She earned all of her degrees, including her PhD in cultural anthropology, from UW-Madison.  She’s the author of three books including, The Laziness Myth: Narratives of Work and the Good Life in South Africa, which we talked to her about on all the way back on episode eight in February of 2021.
