Encounters That Change Us

from Sermons On-the-Sound Hosted by web2q

On the Third Sunday in Lent, The Rev. Michael Singer reflects on Jesus’ encounter with the Samaritan woman at the well and shares a personal story of a homeless man who once asked him for a blessing. What seemed like a simple act of ministry became something much deeper — a moment where Father Michael realized that he himself had received the greater blessing. Like Jesus speaking with the Samaritan woman, these encounters remind us that God often works through the people we least expect. Christ crosses boundaries, meets people where they are, and turns our assumptions upside down. In doing so, he reveals that grace flows in both directions — and sometimes the very people we think we are helping become the ones who transform us.
