Encourage Men as Leaders

In January, my daughter asked me to share 1 Timothy 3:11 with a group of women in Raleigh, North Carolina. As I walked through the qualifications for deacons' wives, I shared some principles for ALL wives. Husbands need wives in ways that they might not fully understand. God calls men to lead, provide, and protect. Sometimes they do that as pastors, shepherds, elders, and/or deacons in the church, but all of them do it as leaders of their families. However, leadership extends far beyond just their families. Men lead by example in their churches, in their communities, and in their jobs. They are mentors and role models to young boys growing up all around them. They are strong and protective warriors for the young girls growing up all around them.
