End Credits #451 - July 22, 2026 (The Odyssey)

from Guelph Politicast · host Adam A. Donaldson

This week on End Credits, we go big *and* go home! It feels like we've been waiting for it forever, and last weekend it finally arrived on all the biggest screens available. That's right, we're talking about Christopher's Nolan's epic re-telling of The Odyssey, now definitely in a theatre near you, and sticking with Nolan, we will talk about one of his forgotten(?) classics. This Wednesday, July 22, at 3 pm, Adam A. Donaldson and Tim Phillips will discuss: Tenet and the Mind of Christopher Nolan. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Christopher Nolan insisted that they release his sci-fi action flick Tenet in theatres no matter how limited the attendance restrictions could be. That's one of the reasons Tenet is seen as a rare Nolan misfire, but as we look ahead to The Odyssey, and Nolan's status as a Hollywood blockbuster juggernaut, we will re-examine Tenet and what it can tell us about the director. REVIEW: The Odyssey (2026). Hotly anticipated for well over a year, we are finally delivered The Odyssey, Christopher Nolan's follow-up to his Oscar-winning magnum opus Oppenheimer. The story is well-known, Trojan War hero Odysseus undertakes a decades long quest to return to his home and his wife, while Penelope is being courted by a large group of suitors who want to replace him on the throne of Ithaca. Matt Damon leads an all-star cast who all fill parts big and small, but is Nolan's epic "too big to fail", or is it worthy of all the hype? End Credits is on CFRU 93.3 fm and cfru.ca Wednesday at 3 pm.
