A reporter was in the area searching for sources, compiling yet another story on the escalation of gang violence. This time they sought to highlight the extent of the atrocities and the connection to Venezuela. Gabe had duped three news correspondents in the past six months: one English, one American, and one Australian. He was baffled that these hapless outsiders cared at all about the inner workings of his home. His success rate was nothing to rave about; for the few he’d effectively deceived there were three times as many failures—shrewd journalists who saw straight through his tall tales and told him to take a hike.'
