Ending Spiritual Trauma Through Forgiveness

from A Sound Heart · host Josiah Rich

Perhaps the greatest source of spiritual trauma is unforgiveness.  Yes, our collective focus had been on victimism, and its malignancy, but we need to realize that the Scriptures do not focus on victim-hood.  May I say that victimhood is as old as humankind, but so is the need to forgive those who have sinned against us in terrible ways.  If we do not forgive we remain victims.  One may say that he or she does not have the inward resources to forgive, and that may well be true.  God, however, will give us the ability to do what we cannot do when someone has sinned against us.
