Her symptoms began at 11 years old and despite her own mum having an Endometriosis diagnosis, both women's concerns were dismissed as hysteria. After being on the contraceptive pill for over 20 years, Jen discovered the devastating effects Endometriosis and Adenomyosis had had on her body after being left unchecked for so long.Alexandra and Jen discuss the critical importance of informed consent, the emotional toll of chronic illness, and the need for better clinical education around Endometriosis and other conditions. They also discuss Jen's brand new book 'Endometriosis' which is the most current and comprehensive guide designed to educate, empower, and support others walking a similar path.Links, Socials & ProductsJen…Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jen.dometriosis/?hl=enWebsite: https://www.jenmoore.co.uk/Buy her book 'Endometriosis': https://www.jenmoore.co.uk/endometriosis-bookIt's Not Just A Period...Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/itsnotjustaperiod.ukTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@itsnotjustaperiod.ukYoutube: https://www.youtube.com/@ItsNotJustAPeriod⚠️ Disclaimer: The content of this podcast is for general informational purposes only and should not replace personalised medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
