Speaking on: Perpetua/FelicityEnduring FaithTherefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.  We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.SUMMER SERIES JESUS – CHAMPION OF FAITHOne of the aspects of the Bible that makes it truly striking is how all the writers do not ‘airbrush’ any person mentioned in Scripture…including Jesus. We get to see the good, the bad, and the ugly side of people - real people, just like us.But what the writers do make clear is that there is only one hero, and that is Jesus. In fact, whoever wrote the book of Hebrews ascribes to Jesus the title, champion. Our so-called ‘heroes of the Bible’ were not heroes at all, they were real people like us.
