Engalsvik

from Distance Learning · host Distance Learning

Engalsvik is a small fishing village in Norway's Fredrikstad municipality. I spent a couple of days there with friends and was taken with the beautiful setting on the Oslofjord where small, rocky islands dot the horizon and small boats glide across the still waters. Walking through the woodland around the house we'd rented we often found ourselves trespassing on the properties of people's summer homes - wooden shacks near the shore that looked all but abandoned. We'd walk out onto their jetties and take in the view as the sun set, lost in the blissful serenity we'd somehow stumbled into.
