SHOULD/OUGHT TO - expectation, reccomendation - formal obligation, improbability/implausability, critique of an action, uncertainty, coincidence CAN -capability, critique COULD - suggestion, unwillingness, possibility/impossibility, posdibiloty/uncertainty MUST/CAN'T - certainty (for the present tense - for the future tense BOUND TO SHALL - to show your certainty, regulations/laws/rules, WILL - presumption/assumption, stressing out/emphasizing MAY/MIGHT - although clauses (He might have been bad at Math, but was a great engineer),MAY AS WELL/MIGHT AS WELL - last option - The movie starts in half an hour and ends at half past ten. We may as well get sit in a café now. Possibility/uncertainty - 1) MAY - the most probable 2) COULD - probable 3) MIGHT - the least probable TRY + MAY/MIGHT - Try as we might, we couldn't get it right. MAY more often in formal language DARE - DARE TO, DARE - auxiliary verb (She I dare not not to name) NEED - "Máš to zapotřebí?" - Need you to laugh all the time? NEED TO - je třeba - You need to press this button in order to start the machine. WOULD - something that didn't happen yet EXPRESSIONS - BE BOUND TO - certainty for the future HAD BETTER - reccomendation
