Enjoying the Process Is Everything

As an artist or creative, enjoying the process is everything. It is literally the reason you wanted to be a professional artist in the first place. However, it's very easy to get lost in the challenges of setting up and creating a thriving business. The most important thing is to step back, reframe, get grounded in your art, and remember that enjoying the process is the whole point. It's possible to enjoy the process of creating a business too. Geeking out on marketing and business strategies is super interesting once you get the hang of it. It's really, really creative, just in a different way. I meet with a couple of friends each week and we love discussing business strategies and sharing what we've most recently learned. We get to collaborate on the process of building our art businesses and it's super rewarding. We really enjoy the process and it's fun!But the point of all of this is, if you aren't enjoying something or if you feel like you're banging your head against a wall, then you are! Stop what you're doing, take a step back, have a reset, and consider getting help from someone who loves doing what you're trying to do. Your enjoyment of the process is EVERYTHING. You can't build a sustainable business without it. So pay attention to how you feel and use it to guide you.
