Ennerdale residents say protests will not stop until government takes action

SAfm — The community of Ennerdale, south of Johannesburg says it will continue to protest until the government listens. There is a strong police presence in the area where residents are protesting against crime, drug dealings and gangsterism which are plaquing the community. Police are, once again, been accused of aiding criminals. Residents say they have been reporting these concerns to authorities but that nothing is being done. They have called on government to take their plight seriously. This is part of a series of protests by the so-called coloured communities in Gauteng and the Western Cape who say they are being marginalised. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to community leader Ingrid Jefferies.
