Enter the Mystery

Did you take a deep breath last week or feel like your body just wanted to crawl back into bed? I’m hearing both in sessions. So if you are wondering, YES!! September has arrived with a different kind of intensity. The light is shifting as we move swiftly toward Equinox. The energetic preparation for our next seasonal threshold has already begun, and the messages are flowing for sure. It makes so much sense to my fall-loving witchy self that September carries the energy of alchemy. And with this alchemical learning, I am noticing that we are not simply being shown what needs to change next; we are being asked to gather what has already been stirred, disrupted, illuminated, depleted, or rendered impossible to ignore. This is prima materia, the raw material of transformation. There is a difference between recognizing that something needs to change and knowing how to enter the process through which it can actually be transformed. Which means September is asking us to become apprentices to alchemy. This is not simply a time of receiving insight about what needs to change or putting up our shields in fear of the changes we are sensing. We are being brought into the laboratory itself, where the conditions of our lives become the prima materia. We are asked to see what is depleted or excessive, what has become unsustainable, what confusion is dissolving, what adversity has exposed, what the past has left in our bones, and what truth is beginning to make itself known beneath it all. Alchemy asks something different of us than our previous ways of healing, our ideas about fixing, or our habits of trying to figure it all out. Alchemy asks us to work with what has been revealed and what has been gathered. To discover what can be metabolized, transmuted, recombined, or reclaimed so that what we have lived becomes material for what we are becoming. The Alchemist does not require life to become less mysterious before they begin. And September is giving us the laboratory, a kind of apprenticeship in the alchemical process before we arrive at the Equinox gate. In this new Transmissions from the Edge, I’m exploring the first half of September’s invitations to enter the mystery and why confusion may not mean you have lost the path at all. It may be part of how the path is being revealed. We’ll explore what September is showing us about resourcing, rhythm, competency and genius, intuition, uncertainty, boldness, healing, and what it means to become increasingly trustworthy with the power of transformation we are here to hold.
