Turn in your Bibles to Romans 6. Romans 6, we've been talking about the unoffendable heart, right? And how when Jesus was talking about the last days, He says, many hearts will grow cold. And what we want is we want hearts that are red hot.
We want burning hearts, right? We want burning hearts of love. And we want hearts that aren't offended, even though there's so much reason in our day to be offended. So many reasons, so many excuses to be offended.
And the Lord's kind of going, hey, I want you to not be isolated. I want you to not give up meeting together. Don't be isolated, but actually go into community. I want you to fire the whole accounting department in between your ears, right?
We talked about that at the unoffendable heart message. We talked about we've got these little minions upstairs in our brains, like, well, she did this, and he did that. But I served, and I did all these things, and we're keeping all these records. And all the minions are like, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
And they're just like, they've got this ledger of all of the things that people aren't doing or that they are doing against us, and all these reasons of why we should be offended. And the Lord's like, fire them all. Just get them out of there. The job performance is at an all-time low.
Just get them out, and let's hire an HR department, a humble repentance department. Let's do it. And so the Lord is just waking us up out of the mindset of I wake up for me. And most of the time we wake up for ourselves, and the Lord's kind of going, hey, that's not what your destiny is.
Your destiny is not to wake up, and the first thing that you're thinking about before your phone is how you're tired and how you're a victim. You know how many of us wake up as victims to our day? Like, I am a victim because I had to wake up. And it's like, shoot, that's where we're starting.
And the Lord's like, hey, you are not a god unto your own life. You're not a god unto yourself. You have a different destiny, a different purpose. And your purpose isn't self-love for the rest of your days.
Your purpose isn't eat, drink, be merry, and then just die. That's not your purpose in life. Your purpose is to love God and love people. And so love God is actually the first commandment.
Just want to remind you of that. It takes first place. And sometimes we get those confused, right? And then when it takes second place, then all of our family and our kids and the people around us and their opinions start driving us like a cattle driver.
And then think for some reason, we get tired and unhappy, right? And it's because it's really draining to live that way. So let's fire those accountants. Let's get tender hearts.
And then let's find a way to have entitlement not be the thing that is just consuming our hearts, right? Last week we talked about entitlement. Who was like, it didn't apply to me. Yeah, raise your, no, I'm just kidding.
So what I want to do is I want to follow up on last week's message of entitlement because as I preached it, it was like what the Lord was doing in our own hearts. And then I preached it. And I felt there's all of this entitlement that kind of was like, hey, don't say that. And entitlement internally was kind of uncomfortable about it.
And then entitlement said, well, you have to be entitled to some things, right? And so what we're going to do is we're going to have a corporate Bible study. You guys ready to get into like corporate Bible study, big group Bible study. And what we're going to answer is what we're entitled to.
And as new creations, we're entitled to so many things. And they're all incredible. And so I want to start in Romans 6. So turn there with me.
Romans 6, what are we entitled to? It's a great question. I don't know if you were asking that question, but I was. Jesus was free from entitlement.
No hot showers. No nice king-sized bed. People not seeing him for who he really was. All these things they should have been entitled to.
And then he just was unoffended. Unbelievable. All right, Romans 6. We're starting in verse 6.
Everybody say amen if you're there. All right, verse 6, we know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin for one who has died has been set free from sin. Now we have died with Christ. We believe that we'll also live with him.
We know that Christ being raised from the dead will never die again. Death no longer has dominion over him. For the death he died, he died to who? Sin.
Once and for all, but the life he lives, he lives to who? So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus. So first thing that we're entitled to is we're entitled to consider ourselves dead to sin. And we're entitled to actually not live unto ourselves and live to sin, but we're entitled to live to God.
And so this is what it looks like. Temptation comes knocking on your door. And it's knocking pretty hard. You're going, OK, OK, OK.
And you come to the door. And instead of letting temptation and sin in, you kind of go, they say, hey, they ask for someone. They ask for your old nature. They ask for your sin nature.
Are they home? And then what your response is, you know what? Actually, they don't live here anymore. You know what?
They actually died. It was really gruesome, really bloody. I watched on Instagram this video. It was so funny, where this guy was getting baptized.
And these two gentlemen were baptizing this man. And they just put him in the water. And I was like, just normal baptism was like two seconds. And then you bring him out.
And they just kept on holding him down. And I was like, we've choked about that. But it was like 45 seconds in. On this Instagram video, I'm like, are they?
What is happening? And I watched till the end, and they finally brought him out. But I was in panic mode, right? And it's like, we need to understand that our old nature got buried.
It got crucified. That's what baptism is. It's like your old nature. Your sin nature goes into the grave.
And then you come out with a new nature. And so the temptation comes knocking our door. And it's like, oh my goodness, they died, actually. So you can't come in.
I can't invite you in, because old man died. Old man that lets sin reign in this body actually doesn't live here anymore. They're gone. There's a grave.
It's actually a couple of miles away. You should go to the grave and check out the graveside, because they died, right? And so we are entitled to be free from sin. And we're entitled to actually not have temptation and sin reign in our mortal bodies.
And so that's some really good news. I'm really happy about that. First John 3, let's turn to first John 3. We're entitled to have our body parts be instruments of righteousness.
That's what that passage said. So our members, like my hands, my eyes, my ears, my mouth, my feet, my toes, every part of my body is entitled to actually be an instrument or a tool of righteousness, not a tool to do what I want to do whenever I want to do it, whenever I feel like doing it. But actually, it's now a tool that's set apart in holy to God. So my hands are actually tools for the kingdom.
My eyes and my mouth and my ears, they're all instruments of worship. OK, first John 3, verse 16. By this, we know, are we OK? We're going to do a Bible site today.
Is that OK? We're just in the Bible a little bit, learning about it, what we're entitled to, what the promises are for us. By this, we know love that Jesus laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.
But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or in talk, but indeed and in truth. So we're entitled to lay down our lives for our brothers. You're entitled and you're free to lay down your life for the people around you.
You are free to pull the trigger at will when you see a need in the body of Christ. So you're entitled, you get to meet needs and be generous on all occasions once you're born again. So now you can just freely give. And you're free to not just believe things, but actually live them out.
Imagine that. The church, not just believing things, but actually doing what they believe. You're entitled to do that. You can live the kingdom of generosity.
You can do it. And you're entitled to it. You're free to do it. Isn't that good news?
Come on. And then we're entitled to some amazing things. But you're like, wait, but I thought I was entitled to do whatever I want on a Friday night and to buy everything that I see that I like online. And the Lord's like, you're entitled to meet needs in the body.
You're like, okay, I feels different Lord. He's like, yeah, it's different. It's for sure different. It's different than what your coworkers believe and live.
Yes, it is different. You are different than the world. Yeah, okay. I'm gonna just read a couple passages real quick.
You can turn there if you want to. Just pick one of these to turn to. Matthew 5, 43, John 15, 19, her first Peter 412. So I'm gonna breeze through these.
Matthew 5, 43, John 15, 19, and first Peter 412. If you're able to turn to all of those while I'm reading them, I'm very impressed. All right, Matthew 5, verse 43, it says this. You heard that it was said, love your neighbor and hate your enemy.
But Jesus introduced something different. He says, but I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you so that you may be sons of your father who's in heaven. John 15, verse 19, if you belong to the Lord, if you belong to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world.
That is why the world, look at that. The world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you, a servant is not greater than his master. If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you.
1 Peter 412, beloved, do not be surprised. Oh, this is great language. Hey, don't be shocked at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share in Christ's sufferings that you may rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed.
If you are insulted for the name of Jesus, you are blessed. Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name. You are entitled to be persecuted as a father of Jesus. You're entitled to love enemies.
You're entitled to pray for those who persecute you. Like you're entitled to pray for those who mistreat you because of what you believe. You're entitled to have the world hate you. Like you get to have the world hate you.
When you follow Jesus, you get to have the world hate you. You're entitled to not be surprised when you face trials of many kinds and insults from those that don't know the Lord. And you're entitled to rejoice in the face of suffering. Whoa, this is not the prosperity gospel that many of us signed up for.
Wait a second, I thought this was all about going to heaven and all the good blessings and the Lord's like, you're entitled to be persecuted and have the world hate you. And when you suffer, don't be surprised by it. And when you actually are a person of character and you make business decisions in character and it's actually displeasing to your boss that's actually wanting to pull a quick one in the business world and you actually don't align with them and you don't walk it out and you experience persecution and mistreatment because of it, don't be surprised. But the Lord says in all of that, you're actually filling up the sufferings of the Lord and you're actually finding fellowship with Jesus that is like a sweet fellowship.
It's not the moment to go, oh poor me. Oh poor, sad me. Everyone should feel sorry for me because I lost my job because of my faith in Jesus. No, it's like I am rejoicing that I get to share in the sufferings of Jesus.
That's how counter-cultural this is as the kingdom life. You're not to be in self-pity, you're being too, you're called to glory in that. Now what I'm not saying is go into the restaurant with a loudspeaker and start preaching in the gospel and everyone is captive to your preaching on the loudspeaker and then you get kicked out and then you think you're suffering and under persecution. Listen, I'm not saying that, okay?
But what I am saying is that you carry yourself with character day in and day out and there's gonna be a day where that's gonna get confronted and the world's not gonna like it and they're gonna hate you, okay? That's just don't be surprised when they hate you. Don't be surprised. Do you think that you're better than your master?
That like they, but Jesus, they're gonna love me. And Jesus like, wait a second, didn't you just read what I just said? I said that if they hated me, then they're gonna hate you. So do you think you're better than me?
Okay, no, I didn't, I didn't think that. But then I wanna draw attention to suffering because that can feel confusing, but in the context, when we're talking about suffering, we're not talking about sickness because all throughout the scriptures, how many people did Jesus go, I'm not gonna heal them? Like pretty much zero, yep, zero, that's the answer. So God's will is healing all the time.
And we have to send the attention of why not, why don't we see healing all the time? But when Jesus was doing it, his will was that every single person was gonna get healed, okay? So when we're talking about suffering in these passages, we're not talking about healing like physical ailments, okay? This is talking about like persecution, suffering, all right?
Trials like that. This is one of those areas that we can kind of feel entitled to though of like, well, you said I'm gonna be healed, I still have that painful hang now, what's the deal, right? And so we have to actually sit in the tension of going, I want to step into the promises of God, and I'm in process because promises are oftentimes fully free and we experience them immediately and they're accessed by faith, but oftentimes promises are in partnership, okay? So promises are sometimes have contingencies on them.
And so if you're not seeing healing, we're all in this process of like, you don't just go in and go, I'm gonna lift a thousand pounds in the weight room if you've never lifted weights, right? And in faith, we actually lift weights, we train in faith to see miracles and signs and wonders and healings. And I'm not saying that it's all up to you that people get healed, but I am saying, when I look at the Bible, it seems that way. And there's some mystery in it and I don't get it because it seems like I didn't doubt at all, it had full faith and I don't know why they didn't get healed.
And there's some mystery in that and I'm not really sure. But I want to encourage you that suffering that's being talked about isn't like a badge, like I got cancer, now I have a badge of like look at how I suffered with God. Now what I am saying is that you can have a badge as you go through that going, I still have a tenderness in my heart towards God and the Lord is so good that He can take the evil things and He can turn them to good. And even though it's not His will that you have cancer, He can take that and He can turn it for our good, even though He's not the one behind it, right?
He's not trying to teach us lessons through sickness and disease, okay? I'm just wanting to make that clear. But even power, oh, this is important. Even power and healing and signs and wonders and gifts and all those amazing things that are given to us by the Holy Spirit, those are not for you.
Can I just remind us that all the spiritual gifts are not for you to feel good about the gifts you've got. Those spiritual gifts are actually to build up the church and they're not just to build up the church but then you're supposed to preach the gospel and confirm the gospel with signs and wonders and power. So your healing gift is not for you to even put it on display in the church, your healing gift is to do that but do it in the world, right? To heal bodies in the world.
The majority of Jesus miracles, like 95% of Jesus miracles, guess what? They weren't in the church building. They weren't in the temple, they were in the marketplace, okay? So your giftings, you're like, man, I just want that prophetic anointing.
It's like, really? That's amazing. The prophetic anointing is for the world to meet Jesus. Not for you to have a microphone in your face, right?
Okay, I'm just saying that. All right, Galatians 5. Galatians 5, verse 13. This is just kind of a review from Romans 6.
Galatians 5, 13, you, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free but do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh. Rather, serve one another humbly in love. So you're entitled to be free and to use your freedom, not to indulge the flesh, but your freedom is purpose at servanthood, that you're called to be a servant of all. So you're entitled to serve Romans 13.
Let's look at Romans 13. You're entitled to serve, you're entitled to persecution, you're entitled to lay down your life for others, you're entitled to meet the needs of the family of God, you're entitled to have the world hate you, you're entitled to be persecuted and love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. This is amazing. Romans 13, verse 8, right in this passage beforehand, Paul's talking to the Romans and he's saying, hey, pay your taxes, okay?
So like honor the authorities, pay your taxes. So you're entitled to not do like tax aversion, okay? You're entitled to pay your taxes. You're disobeying God if you're not paying your taxes, okay?
Everybody goes, oh. Verse 8, oh, no one anything. That's why he was talking about like paying your taxes and all that, okay. Accept it to love one another.
For the one who loves another has fulfilled the law, for the commandments, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not murder, you shall not steal, you shall not covet, and any other commandment are all summed up in this word. You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Love does no wrong to a neighbor, therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. Verse 14, let's skip down, but put on the Lord Jesus and make no provision for the flesh to gratify its desires.
That's like when Styn starts knocking on your door and you're like, nobody's home, sorry, I can't get to the door, right? And we're making no provision for the flesh. So you're entitled to pay your taxes, to honor the authorities, to love your neighbor as yourself, to cast off works of darkness, to put on the armor of God and your identity, and do not make provisions for sin. I'm gonna read a couple more real quick here.
First, that's loanians five, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. John 1633, I've told you these things so that in me you may have peace in this world, and even when you have trouble, take heart because I've overcome the world, Ephesians four, be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other just as Christ and God forgive you. So you're entitled to be kind, compassionate, you're entitled to forgive others, the way that God forgave us, you're entitled to peace and thankfulness in all circumstances. These are amazing promises for us.
And some of us are going like, man, but I wanna be entitled to other things, you know? Like ice cream and stuff, you know? And like really good food. And the Lord is like, yes, you're entitled to a lot of things, but some of those things are not necessary.
And I'm giving you promises that are necessary for you, right? They're important for you, okay? Last week we talked about Psalm 37, four. Do you guys remember Psalm 37, four?
We get the desires of our hearts, right? I get the desires of my heart, this is amazing. And the Lord's like, read the whole verse. You delight yourself in the Lord, and then you get the desires of your heart, right?
And so oftentimes with promises, there's a contingency to the promise, right? So even the whole promise of salvation comes through, well, you have a part to play in it, not in terms of the savings. With promises, God does all the hard work. Everybody say, thank you, Jesus.
Thank you, Jesus, you did all the hard work, okay? He does all the hard work. And then he says, hey, here's the small contingencies on you experiencing what I'm talking about. If you want salvation, you confess with your mouth, see you have to do something.
You confess with your mouth, believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord and believe the gospel and then you'll be saved, right? So the safe part is the fun part. But there's a responsibility we have to walk out the promises of God, right? But a lot of times what happens in America is we get really acquainted with the promises and we love the promises.
And we like put the promises on, in like Hobb-E lobby artwork all the time, right? And we put them in our kitchens and in our bathrooms, especially in our main floor bathrooms. We put them and there's all of these promises, there's such good news. And most of the time they're a phrase in a whole verse.
And there's a contingency on what, the promise that we love, we love that promise, right? And so what we're gonna do is, is we're gonna talk about what, what is the promise, but what's our part to play in it? Because oftentimes we feel like, well, I'm gonna be a person of faith and I'm gonna step out into the promises of God, right? Because we have that question of, well, what am I entitled to?
And I just read some amazing entitlements. But then there's things that we believe for and we want to experience and we're trusting in these things. And we have entitlement and faith around these things, but we're just thinking that if we repeat it enough times, then it will happen, right? If I just like quote this and I memorize it and then I just say it over and over and over and over again.
And if I like, in word of faith, just say it and say it and speak it, then it's gonna happen. And the Lord's like, all you have to do is read the start of the verse and then it's gonna happen, right? And so what we're gonna do is we're gonna get in small groups and we're gonna talk about some of these verses together, all right? So the first verse that I want you to turn to is in Matthew six, Matthew six, Matthew six, verse 24.
Let's all stand together as we read the word. So what we're gonna do is I'm gonna read this passage and then we're gonna turn to two or three people around us. I wanna encourage you to even turn around to someone that you didn't come with. And what we're gonna do is we're gonna dialogue around these two questions.
What's the promise and what's our part to play, okay? What's the promise and what's our part to play? Let's look at verse 24. Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock and the rain fell and the floods came and the winds blew and beat on that house but it did not fall because it had been founded on the rock.
Oh, Matthew, oh I'm sorry, Matthew seven. You guys don't know Matthew six, 24. I'm not, Matthew seven, 24. I apologize.
Are we there now? My goodness, I apologize. Matthew seven, 24. I'm gonna reread it because you guys just were not listening very well.
Matthew seven, 24. Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock and the rain fell and the floods came and the winds blew and beat on that house but it did not fall because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand and the rain fell and the floods came and the winds blew and beat against that house and it fell and great was the fall of it. So what I want you to do is turn around to a neighbor and talk about what's the promise that Jesus lays out and what's our part in it.
And I want you to kind of as a group name. This is maybe what I thought it said and then you read it and maybe now you know what it actually is saying, what Jesus is promising, okay, what our part is. All right, I'm gonna say one, two, three and then turn to a couple people, introduce yourself and jump into talking about what's the promise and what's my part to play? Ready, say go.
What's the promise and what's my part to play? How many of you know that the Western church loves some promises? The Western church loves these promises. They're amazing promises.
I personally love this promise that no matter the storm that I face, I'm gonna be built on the rock, right? And then the Lord gives us this uh-oh moment from the Sermon on the Mount and he says, let's not cherry pick all the promises, right? We love cherry picking them and the Lord's like, but there's a contingency here if you obey me. So how many of you have ever been like, man, my life is falling apart and then you realize it's because of all of your decisions and disobedience?
And you're like, I thought I was built on the rock, Jesus. Like I built my life on you and he's like, really? You've been disopaying me for the last six months and you're wondering why the storm's hitting you hard and it's literally consequences from your own choices and then everything else in culture is happening all at the same time and the storm is happening. You're like, why am I sinking?
And the Lord's like, read the start of the verse, man. It's like obedience is what builds your life on the rock. Shoot, okay. Turn back to Matthew six.
I don't know if you've been there recently. Matthew six, verse 31. We're gonna read Matthew six, verse 31, through 34 here. This is another one that we're gonna talk about in our groups.
Matthew six, 31, therefore do not be anxious saying, what shall we eat or what shall we drink or what shall we wear for the Gentiles and seek after all these things and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be added to you. Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow. For tomorrow will be anxious for itself.
Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. So we're gonna get into groups. We're gonna talk about what's the promise and then what's our part to play in the promise and partnering with the promise that God's laying out here, okay? So let's all stand up again and we're gonna find a new group.
We're gonna find some new people. I know you really like the people that you are with. Now you gotta find new people. I know some of you are gonna just try to do the same people even though I said that, but try to just find a new group.
How many of you know that we started in a living room, right? So we love when we just gonna get to make it feel like a living room and interact with the Bible together. Oh, it's so good. Well, hey, you know, when we look at that promise of all these things added unto you, that's where our ears really perk up, right?
We're like, man, I like that. I like that a lot. All these things added unto me. And then the Lord's like, yes, you will have food and you'll have clothing on your back.
And we're like, what else Lord? He's like, you're gonna have food and you're gonna have clothing. And we're like, yes, and what else? And he's like, you are gonna eat.
And we're like, man, I love steak and mashed potatoes and the Lord's like, and you will eat rice and beans, right? And like, I love designer shoes. And he's like, man, you're not gonna get the drop on the Nike app. I'm so on the sneaker app, you're not gonna get the drop.
You're like, Lord, you said I'd have clothing, right? And he's like, yeah, you're gonna shop at Walmart. And I'm just kidding. You're gonna get the and one sneakers this time around.
Okay. Some of you guys are like, I don't know what you're talking about. If you know, you know, okay. There's a story that we heard this week.
And I felt like it really paired well with this message of the Lord has entitled us to so much in the kingdom. That we get to step into so many of his promises and our identity in the Lord. And oftentimes it's the opposite of the way of the world. And Jesus says things like, if you wanna save your life, you've gotta lose it.
And those things don't compute so often in our minds. But we heard the story of a group of believers in an undisclosed location. Even the person that shared with us couldn't share with us where it is. But there's this group of believers that discovered this community, this unreached community where no one had heard about Jesus.
And they camped outside like in a neighboring villager city and pin pointed that there is a kingpin guy in that city that's almost like over the mafia or like cartel or whatever it is in that region. And he was the one that was running the whole town. So everybody kind of answered to him. And they started praying and interceding for this man for years after year after year for like 10 years of intercession and prayer for this one person, this one person this town.
And then they felt like a Lord had brought a breakthrough in like the spiritual realms. And practically they were invited into a house in the town to read the word of God. And so they went, they sent one guy in and he brought his Bible and he went into this home and he started reading from one of the gospels. And he read one or two chapters the first day.
And you know, had a meeting with them and then invited them like, hey, can we come back type thing? And then he left and on his way home, he was taken out and he was murdered. And they sent another person in and Luke two, Luke three, Luke four was read. And then he went home and another martyr was found in the streets and Luke five, Luke seven, Luke eight.
Day after day, they sent another one from their community to read a passage, to read a chapter. And again, they were killed on their way home. All the way to 18 believers that went into the city and then were killed on their way home. And the 19th guy walks into the town and this is not something that happened years ago.
It's happened in the last like month or two. So this is not some like tale from 20 years ago. This is like right now. And the 19th guy walks in and he's captured by this like cartel leader, kingpin leader.
He has the guys like grab him and take him to this kingpin. This guy says, why are you not afraid to die? This is the question that he asks. And he said, well, I know where I'm going to go.
And you can't do anything to me. But you don't know where you're going to go after you die. And the kingpin says, you're right, I don't. What do I need to know?
And he preaches the gospel to him. And the guy gives his life to Jesus in that moment. And then he invites the whole community to actually hear the gospel from this group of people. And then he invites the whole community to surrender their lives to Jesus.
And it makes a strong encouragement for the whole group, the whole community of 2000 to give their lives to Jesus. Mass salvation happens. And when I hear that, I become so aware of my self-indulgent, gospel, weak, self-focused lifestyle. And I believe God is calling us as Americans to be provoked with jealousy, for the devotion and love that our brothers and sisters have, where they're not entitled to love their lives unto death.
But there's actually going to be a great cloud of witnesses that are underneath the throne, saying how long until you bring justice, so many martyrs that lay down their lives for the sake of love, for the sake of devotion, for the sake of Jesus, the lamb that gave his life for many. And I believe God is calling us as a people to go, I want to count the cost again. I want to actually sign up again that my life isn't about me. My life is about loving him and obeying him and doing what he says and listening and obeying.
And then from that place, loving people, even if it cost me my life, laying down my life. And the Lord is, I know that it feels like a world away. I understand that. But I know that right now I can get out, I can start practicing the mindset of this is bigger than me.
This is bigger than what I'm going to do on a Friday night. This is bigger than just what I'm planning for my 401k. This is bigger than all the things that I get caught up in every single day that seem to distract me. Like, man, are we going to watch Netflix tonight?
All of these things that are like, am I fully surrendered to him? Where even like every part of my life is his. My decisions, my time, my energy, my effort, my hands, my eyes are the hiss, and the Lord's going, let's get out of entitlement. You're not the one that sits on the throne.
You wanted me to sit in the throne. That's what you wanted. You wanted me to sit on the throne. Do you still want me on the throne?
Or do you want to displace me? Do you want to sit on the throne or should I? Let's all stand. I just want to pray over you and commission you out.
Lord, we thank you that you are calling us as a people. Out of entitlement and out of bitterness and out of offense and out of unforgiveness and out of all of the vengeance that maybe we've felt as people have wronged us. And Lord, we thank you that no sin done against us will define who we are. No wrongs done against us will be the things that dictate what our identity is.
And so Lord, we say that everything that you've said, everything that you've promised us is yes in amen, that it's freely given. And so Lord, we freely receive it with obedience. We freely receive it and access all of these good promises of identity, these good promises of truth, these good promises that you've called us into. We say that we want them to become a reality, even if it feels so far away, even if I feel so far removed from some of these things, Lord, there's a hunger in my heart.
There's just a little flicker of hunger, like I want that. I know that's for me. And if that's you, you're going like, there's like a little flicker of hunger. I feel like it's so far from where I'm at.
But you still got that little flicker. That's all that it takes. All it takes is that little piece of hunger to go, yeah, I want that. And you just speak it over yourself, over and over again.
I want this. I want that. I want the kingdom. I want Jesus.
I want him to be Lord over everything. And you just start talking to Holy Spirit in everyday life. You go, show me how. Show me how, because I know I want it.
And you just start talking to the Lord and just like little whispering. I'm trying to demystify it for you. Just little whispering. It's like, just talk to him and just say, I want that.
Help me. What should I do? And then the first thing that comes in your mind is usually Holy Spirit. He loves responding to us.
So you go, what should I do? And then he tells you, and then you obey. And you ask him, you go, Lord, I want you. I want to know you more.
I'm hungry for you. I want to live into what you have for me. And you say, what's next? What should I do?
And then he tells you, and then you do it. And you obey. So Lord, I just thank you for these sons and daughters. I commissioned them out as ones that would be martyrs of love.
Not just martyrs of devotion. Not just martyrs of I should. But these are the ones that when temptation comes to their house, nobody's home. When temptation comes to the house, oh, there's a, yeah, it's the cemetery over there.
Lord, I thank you that these are the ones that will love you, not just in word, but indeed. That they love their brothers and sisters, not just in word, but in action. Lord, these are the ones that are entitled to persecution, entitled to hatred, entitled to suffering, entitled to laying down their lives for the kingdom of heaven, entitled to love, entitled to forgive, entitled to love without conditions, no strings attached, type of love. These are those that are free from offense, free from unforgiveness, free from everything that hinders love.
We just declare that as truth over these wild ones of Jesus. Thank you, Lord. If I resonate with you, you can just whisper, say, Lord, I want that. Lord, I want that, that's true.
I say yes. Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord. In Jesus name, amen.
