Entrepreneur Minute - Scott Newitt, Firefly Distillery

Scott Newitt and Jim Irvin met through the wine business, became friends, and then decided to go into business together and open a distillery in Charleston, South Carolina. Scott and Jim's first product, a muscadine wine flavored vodka named Firefly, met with modest success. The product that they came up with in 2008, Sweet Tea Vodka, literally blew up. Within several months of launching Sweet Tea Vodka, they went from orders for a couple hundred cases a week, to over 8,000.
