Analiza la situación socio-laboral de esta población granadina y los acontecimientos vividos durante la II República y Guerra Civil donde fueron represaliados cinco vecinos, por haber pertenecido al sindicato 'El Trabajo' o haber sido alcalde o concejal republicano: Manuel Burgos Sánchez, Juan Martín García, Antonio Saldaña Guerrero, Juan Sánchez Gutiérrez y Juan Sánchez Zamora.
