El pasado 9 de octubre se dio a conocer la investigación realizada por el doctor Antonio Turrent, del Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Forestales, Agriculas y Pecuarias (INIFAP) y Timothy Wise del Centro sobre Medio Ambiente y Desarrollo (GDAE) de la Universidad de Tufts en Massachusetts. El objetivo principal del estudio es examinar las condiciones bajo las cuales la economía mexicana puede reducir el déficit que hoy experimenta la producción de maíz y recuperar su autosuficiencia en ese cultivo.
