Envy robs you of peace and joy 1 Samuel 18:7-8 As they danced, they sang: “Saul has slain his thousands, and David his tens of thousands.” 8 Saul was very angry; this refrain displeased him greatly. “They have credited David with tens of thousands,” he thought, “but me with only thousands. What more can he get but the kingdom?” (NIV) Proverbs 14:30 A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones. (NIV) 2. Envy causes you to complain 3. Envy creates conflict in your relationships 1 Samuel 19:10 Saul tried to pin him to the wall with his spear, but David eluded him as Saul drove the spear into the wall. That night David made good his escape. (NIV) 1 Samuel 20:32–33 “Why should he be put to death? What has he done?” Jonathan asked his father. 33 But Saul hurled his spear at him to kill him. Then Jonathan knew that his father intended to kill David.
