Enzymes can actually eat plastic ?

Plastics are a growing problem, not simply from an environmental standpoint but microplastics are making their way into our bodies via the food chain. Newly discovered naturally occurring enzymes have been found to eat plastic which gives us hope that we might have a way to tackle a growing global plastic mountain.
