Ep 001: Intro - What is the Podcast About & The Journey We Are About To Travel
from Learn For 2 Podcast · host Brandon DeVere
Hey guys, thank you so much for joining me in this very first podcast of the learn for two podcasts. I'm very excited, uh, to get this thing started for one and very excited, uh, to go on this journey with all of you. And that's, that's what it is. It's going to be a journey. Um, I'm not a professional podcaster, so you know, hopefully that you're not, you're not looking for that cause it's definitely not. But, um, but what it is is it's a chance for all of us to grow together and learn some things. Um, the podcast is called [inaudible] for two reason being is that, uh, I've really taken the approach of learning for too, every time I learned something, I take it with the idea that I'm going to teach it to someone else so I can learn for myself and learn for one other. Uh, and that's been a great, great thing for me as far as being able to retain a lot of the, a lot of the stuff that I learned. So basically what we're going to get down to is the real estate model is broken. Uh, the real estate industry is changing whether or not you want to believe it is or not, how we're, how we're approaching it. Um, I may be moving a little bit faster and bigger cities and then there's smaller cities and uh, you know, smaller towns and things like that. But there's definitely changes on the horizon and it's up to you. Do you want to be on the tracks when that train comes through or do you want to be able to adapt and get out in front of it? And my choice was to go ahead and adapt and get out in front of it. Um, so my goal through this podcast is, uh, to create something that, that can be duplicated, uh, that I can pass along to others and put them in position to continue to strive, uh, and be successful far beyond the stretch of the current real estate model. So back up a little bit to the traditional real estate, you know, cycle of, of a, a real estate agent. Um, and in actually let me back up for a second. One of the reasons that I'm really passionate about this. Um, just to kind of get out the, on the get go. I had an epiphany, you know, a few months back where I was sitting at open house and I w I didn't really have anybody come through and I was sitting there wondering, you know, I'm 37 years old right now. Is this something that I'm going to have to do when I am 60 years old? Not, not that I want to, but then I'm going to have to do. And that really scared me. Um, so, you know, I, I started thinking a little bit more about, okay, so what happens if as a real estate agent right now, if I don't have anything in the hopper or you know, anything in escrow or what's in escrow, once that closes, as soon as I stop, I'm done. I'm done with any income that's coming in. And so that, that also scared me. So I needed to figure out a way to where I could go ahead and build additional revenue streams and treat my business like a business. And I'll, I'll get to that in a few minutes about, um, what also got me thinking on, on that level. But right now we're sitting here with a natural progression of a real estate agent. Okay. You'll get your license, you come in, you're likely joining a team or you have a mentor or trainer or something, and then maybe you become that trainer.
