Episode 4 - Mild Universe // A San Francisco Band.--“What do you get when you combine Disco and Psychedelic? The answer is Discodelic. But what do you get when you combine Discodelic and San Francisco? I’ll tell you, you get the band Mild Universe! San Francisco’s Mild Universe is a dreamy dance-music band that combines funk, disco, jazz, and psychedelic music. Based in the city, the band formed in 2019 and is made up of a collective of musicians who all grew up in the Bay Area. For Episode 4 of Bedroom, I sat down with two members of Mild Universe: my personal friends, Sam Jones and Karina Alterman. Sit back and listen to Sam and Karina discuss the bands new album “Everything Must Change”, some behind the scenes stories of the new bops, the current status of the San Francisco music scene, and a lengthy session of Bedroom Banter. Both of these homies are such genuine people, with such warm and inviting energies, I just want to say it was an absolute pleasure to have them on the pod. To me they represent the kind of people who are great caretakers of the vibrant music scene here in San Francisco and I’m proud to call them my friends.
