Cheyne has been holding it down in Pomona for years and is one of a handful of my Southern California visual artist homies. He’s got a great vibe and so does the art he makes. It’s colorful, energetic, fun, and bursting with life. I’m hella hyped on this dude – hyped on his art, hyped on his love of Blink-182 and he just embodies the kind of artist I admire: someone who works across different mediums and carries their voice clearly throughout each one. In a world full of copycats, Cheyne is truly one of one. Anyone who knows him or his work loves him for exactly that. Go Cheyne, go!In this episode of BEDROOM™, Cheyne shares why he started making art in the first place and how he approaches his multi-faceted creative process – transitioning from mediums like painting and illustration to sculpture, murals, and installations. We talk about how physically draining the act of painting murals can be. We discuss burnout, and a recent installation he did called Overtime at Third Street Gallery.
