Ep 032: Quick Recap of Iowa vs Michigan Football history 1900-2022

This week's opponent in the Big Ten Championship game is Michigan, so I summarized the games played from 1900 through 2022. We don't go into too much detail on each of the 63 games. Iowa is 15-44-4 all-time (27%). Hayden Fry was 4-11-1 all time (28%), with big wins in 1981, 1984, 1985, and 1990. Kirk Ferentz is 7-8 (47%), but lost 42-3 two years ago to Michigan in the Big Ten Championship. He won 3 in a row from 2009 to 2011. For blowout games in the series, Michigan crushed Iowa 107-0 in 1902, and also won 50-0 in 1901, 51-6 in 1969, 55-0 in 1970 and 63-7 in 1971. Iowa won 26-0 in 1984 and 34-9 in 2002. Former Iowa head coach Forest Evashevski was a QB for Michigan from 1938 to 1940, and was on the 1939 team that beat Iowa and Nile Kinnick 27-7, handing them their only loss of the season.
