Ep #045 Hurricane Bianca with Iszi Lawrence and Tom Gilliford

from Flixwatcher: A Netflix Film Review Podcast · host Stripped Media

The forecast for Episode 45 is for a hurricane - Hurricane Bianca to be precise! Bake (2016) Off Tom and Izi from The British Museum Membercast return to Flixwatcher to review Tom’s choice, a sort of spin-off from RuPaul’s Drag Race starring the one and only Bianca Del Rio.   Hurricane Bianca is a sort of school revenge, gross out comedy, with drag. Tom’s description of the film is much, much better than the actual film, it is sort of well-meaning but the delivery (crass, loud and offensive) doesn’t work, generally, women (not in drag) do not fare well either. It doesn’t even feature a realistic representation of a rat. There are much better films that explore drag and LBGT identity that are much better (we reviewed Paris is Burning recently - check that out instead of this) but if you are particularly invested in RuPaul’s Drag Race you might find something to enjoy here. Scores [supsystic-tables id='47'] Unsurprisingly Hurricane Bianca doesn’t score highly, across any category. Scoring a Flixwatcher first of a total of 0 from everyone - for repeat viewing. NO ONE wanted to watch this again. Scoring 2.1, it's not great, do let us know @Flixwatcherpod if you braved the forecast and actually enjoyed it! What do you guys think?
