Ep 098: When Every Door Opened: Jessica Low’s Story of Faith, SMA, and Aubrey’s Miracles

from Beyond Coincidence Podcast · host Sheila Layton

At one month old, Jessica Low knew something was different with her baby girl. What followed was a rare diagnosis, an urgent race for treatment, a move across borders during COVID, and a series of moments that reminded her family they were not walking alone.Jessica Low is a fitness instructor, mom of three, and a woman whose faith has carried her through the unexpected. Her youngest daughter, Aubrey, was diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy type 1—a rare, degenerative neuromuscular disorder that once came with a devastating prognosis. But Aubrey’s story did not end there. From meeting the right specialist at exactly the right time, to securing life-changing treatment, to crossing the border just before it closed during the pandemic, Jessica saw one provision after another. Their family temporarily moved from Calgary to Boston so Aubrey could receive specialized care, and Medicaid approval covered treatment that otherwise would have been impossible to afford.Today, Aubrey is seven years old. She continues to receive care, wears braces, uses a wheelchair for mobility, and is becoming an active voice in her own health decisions. Jessica shares how recognizing God’s hand in the details has brought her greater happiness, peace, and confidence that He is with them.Listen to this powerful episode and be reminded that even when life changes in an instant, God can open doors, send help, and strengthen us for the road ahead.#HandOfGod #FaithInHardTimes #SpinalMuscularAtrophy #SMAWarrior #RareDiseaseAwareness #HopeAndHealing #FaithJourney #MiracleStories #ChristianPodcast #LatterDaySaint
