When sports coaches are awarded Coach of the Year by their peers, it's not usually because their team had the best record, but because they did well in the midst of great adversity. They take adversity, acknowledge it, and work THROUGH it. One of the most quoted Bible verses at graduation time or when we need direction comes from the book of Jeremiah. "I know the plans I have for you... Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future." This encouragement in times of doubt and lack of direction only becomes powerful because most of Jeremiah's career as a prophet was spent preaching bad news and being reviled for it. He would not have gone viral for his uplifting sermons. So, we have to appreciate these dark, valley times in life so we can EXPERIENCE the encouragement that comes with them. Keep going.
