Ep 1: Betty Grumble

from Thirty Minute Call Hosted by Canberra Theatre Centre

In our first episode Chris Endrey is joined by Sydney artist Emma Maye Gibson who is widely known for her stage persona, sex clown Betty Grumble. Her latest show Love & Anger is rightfully described as a 'Flesh Riot'. A series of incredibly vibrant and raw rituals, Betty takes audiences across the entire emotional spectrum and has received countless five star reviews on her journey around the world from sellout runs at Edinburgh Fringe to MOMA. Chris and Emma Maye have been friends for years and he takes this interview as an opportunity to learn about how an artist who lives so much of their time through their clown is able to maintain a space for themselves.
