Ep.102 Ehud the Deliverer of Israel

In this episode, we explore the historical and biblical context surrounding Israel’s second judge, Ehud, during a time when the Israelites once again turned away from God after the death of Othniel. As a result, God allowed King Eglon of Moab—along with allies from the Ammonites and Amalekites—to oppress Israel for 18 years. We dive into the origins and cultural backgrounds of these three groups, particularly the Moabites, descendants of Lot, and their ongoing territorial conflicts with Israel. The story climaxes with Ehud, a left-handed (or ambidextrous) warrior from the tribe of Benjamin, who assassinates Eglon in a daring and strategic move, leading to Israel's liberation.
