The legend of Cropsey was passed amongst all the area's children, he was an escaped mental patient from Willowbrook State school, a mad-mad with a hook for a hand that abducted and murdered children. But the legend began to feel a little bit less like a legend and more like truth when children actually started disappearing. She also talks about the infamous Willowbrook State School.
