Ep. 106: The Kingdom of God and the Ascension of Christ!

What were Jesus‘s last words about the kingdom before his ascension?How can we better understand the hermeneutics of the apostles as they ask and then find the answer to this question?  Their question in Acts 1, and Jesus’ teaching about his second coming in Matthew 24 are very much connected. What is there relationship? How does the amillennialist and the postmilliennialist take this passage? Are those viable exegetical solutions? There are different aspects of the kingdom of God in scripture. How does that help us understand what God has said in his word? Should our theological systems judge scripture or should scripture judge our systems? Bottom line, the text has meaning. Who was the first person to allegorize the scripture? What is the link between raising children and allegorizing the text? Does departing from the plain sense of the text impact your children? What is the source of truth and what role does the Holy Spirit play in our pursuit of it?
