Stratford’s Samuel Diaz III is a fierce Karate World Champion with wins in South Africa, Germany, Austria and London. At the tender age of two years old the Bridgeport native was placed in a dojo and introduced to Karate by his mother. A man of many talents, Diaz is the Chief Strategy Officer at Southwest Community Health Center Inc. by day is a self-employed karate instructor by night. On the weekends, Samuel is an accomplished musician and has traveled the world and shared the stage with many international artists. With a $5,000 investment from his father, Samuel founded Stratford Shotokan Karate by subleasing a space in a dance studio and scaled his business as interest in the school grew. Diaz credits his business acumen and hustle from his grandfather. At 35yrs old Diaz was asked to fill some big shoes on Team Paul Mitchell, the longest running sponsored team in the history of martial arts sports.
