Ep. 11: How to turn your life around & live enlightened - Former Royal Marines Commando Chris Thrall

from Being Human · host Arun Wagle

In this 11th episode of the Being Human podcast, I sat down with former Royal Marines Commando, ultra-endurance athlete and ‘enlightenment coach’, Chris Thrall. Chris was in active service as a Royal Marine Commando in the Northern Ireland conflict. Shortly after leaving the military, Chris began to suffer from addiction to a very serious degree. However one morning, something happened that empowered Chris to turn his life back around. Following on from the moment Chris has completed a plethora of ultra-endurance events including notoriously toughest race on Earth: the Marathon Des Sables, across the Sahara Dessert in 52 degrees celsius heat. Chris has dedicated himself to helping others, especially veterans and their families. Later this year him and a team of commandos he has assembled (the ‘Oceans Elite’) will be rowing across the Atlantic Ocean - completely unsupported. This is a challenge that is expected to take them two months to complete, and they are doing it to raise money for veterans and the families of veterans, who are unfortunately no longer with us.
