Ep. 11- Jeni's Story

Becky and Autumn sit down with Jeni to share her story. A mom of six children, Jeni discusses her twenty year marriage to a sex addict. As a newlywed, when she initially discovered her husband's issues, she thought it would be a quick fix—that he just needed to go to the bishop and not do those things anymore. This pattern repeated itself over and over again and the problem only escalated. Although they were good men, their bishops were ill-equipped to help them. It took seventeen and a half years of feeling like she was in hell, of feeling isolated and low, before things began to change. Through spending hours in prayer, Jeni shares how she finally found direction and peace. The Lord helped her understand that help was on its way, and that she would be healed through associating with others who were going through a similar journey. She and her husband began a therapy program and an addiction recovery program. Over time and through a lot of work and prayer, Jeni began to understand that she was worth creating boundaries for herself. Firm boundaries, along with Earthly angels, making self-care a priority, and finding stillness have all helped her feel restored through Christ.
