The Black Death also known as the bubonic plague was a pandemic that ravaged Europe throughout the 1300s all across the country. The area of Venice, Italy was specifically hit hard with this disease and a place to quarantine the sick and bring the dead was desperately needed. A small island directly south of Venice held these answers. Poveglia Island is said to be one of the darkest places on the planet with death layering this 17 acre island.
