Senate bill 5631 would require state agencies to clearly identify programs and services that accepts applicants with federal Deferred Action for Childhood status. Torres is a Republican representing the 15th legislative district which includes parts of Yakima, Benton, Adams and Franklin counties. Nationally, DACA is opposed by most Republicans. The Torres bill has support from both sides of the aisle in the Washington legislature.
