This extra copy changes how a baby's body and brain develop. It can cause both mental and physical challenges during their lifetime. Amniocentesis - goal of amniocentesis is to examine a small amount of this fluid to obtain information about the baby, including its sex, and to detect physical abnormalities such as Down syndrome or spina bifida. Amniocentesis is only performed on women thought to be at higher risk of delivering a child with a birth defect.Autism - spectrum Autism, or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), refers to a broad range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communicationIEP - An Individualized Education Plan (or Program) is also known as an IEP.
