Released in 1977 not only was this film an unexpected hit after his summer blockbuster flick "Jaws", Spielberg went balls to the wall making sure the film stayed as accurate as possible to the the reality of the UFO phenomena. Whats that I hear you say in a skeptical tone? "Reality of the UFO phenomena?" "There is no reality to the UFO phenomena." Well that's not what young Steven Spielberg thought as he worked directly with personnel of the United States official UFO identification program Project Bluebook to make sure his film was true to the fact, and what he found after working with them is that there is much more to this phenomena that sliver disks and little green men.
