EP 12 - The Dangers of Overgiving: Why self-care matters when we’re caring for others (Sunday Shot)

from From Lemons to Limoncello · host Lisa Marie DeSanto

Balancing life's demands seems to be getting tougher and tougher: We're being asked to do more at work with fewer resources. We're caring for our homes and children, often while caring for aging parents. Layoffs have meant higher stress and lower energy, but our friends and loved ones need our emotional support for all the stress they're dealing with, too. Our high school students are facing challenges never seen by their age group before and our college-aged kids are accumulating higher debt and facing lower salaries when they graduate. How can we deal with it all? It starts by taking better care of ourselves. Mothers Day is this month, so this episode is dedicated to all of the hardworking women out there who are caring for the people they love. It's about avoiding burnout, remembering to breathe, and why conserving your energy and practicing self-care results in better care for everyone we love. This episode is a Sunday Shot: a short and sweet solo episode with a runtime of approximately 10 - 20 minutes.  More About Lisa Marie: To learn more about Lisa Marie, get more content, or schedule a one-on-one coaching session, visit her website at: www.lisamarieconnections.com or her contact page, at: www.lisamarieconnections.com/connect Follow her on Instagram: @lisamarieconnections AFTER THE EPISODE: Love the podcast?
