In this episode, I provide a potential strategy that Oprah Winfrey could use for her Own Cable Network and generate Billions in shareholder value. On December 22, 2020, Madeline Berg announced that Oprah Winfrey had sold 20.5% of her OWN Cable Network to Discovery for 1.34 million shares. The deal figures suggest that the OWN's value had dropped by 37% since 2017 when Discovery initially purchased a 24.5% stake in the company. Oprah's activity up to and after the sale indicates that she may be exiting the network and focusing more on content creation (which helped her become a billionaire).
