Hey ecofictologists and welcome to episode 12 of the Ecofictology podcast! This week we are talking about something that comes up all the time in the ecofiction/climate fiction circles that I am involved in and it is of course ecogrief. There are many terms for it, climate anxiety, climate grief, eco aniety but whatever you want to call it, it is real and it can be debilitating and often we talk about it in the context of climate fiction being majority dystopian (which i’m not even really sure is true) and that it is depressing seeing a future without hope. We need some hope. So in this episode i talk about what ecogrief is and whether a little genre called solarpunk can help you cope with it.
