Newmarket is the home of horse racing but one club making giant strides in a different sport in the Suffolk town is Newmarket Cricket club. Last season, The Stampede, as they are known, achieved promotion to the Cambs and Hunts Division 1 only a year after being reformed. In this episode I caught up with two of their players, leading bowler Freddie Statham and new Aussie recruit Connor Hotham. The pair discuss their personal and team hopes for the season. Freddie updates us on the work the club has been doing during the close season while Connor talks about his day job riding out for trainer David Simcock.
