Ep #123 Facing Fear

from Rooted in the Word · host High Forest Community Church

When faced with overwhelming odds, or a situation that seems far beyond what you can handle, what do you do? Often, our first instinct is to begin orchestrating an escape route. We try to calculate a way to victory. Or sometimes, we simply run away from the problem altogether. But how should we handle our fears Biblically? Today, John Grams takes us to 2 Chronicles 20, where we find King Jehoshaphat facing not one, not two, but three armies coming against him. The odds seem impossible. The threat is real. And Jehoshaphat knows that neither his strength nor his strategy will be enough. What he does next gives us a powerful glimpse into what becomes possible when we stop looking at the size of the battle and start looking to the size of our God. Through this incredible account, we’ll discover three simple applications for our own lives that can change the way we respond when fear comes knocking. Whatever battle you may be facing today, you can walk away encouraged and confident that you do not face it alone. Join us as we open God’s Word and learn what it means to trust Him when the odds are stacked against us in today’s message: “Facing Fear.” High Forest Community Church www.highforestchurch.com Recorded: 8/9/26 For more information on how you can be certain of having eternal life, please contact us at [email protected] Our other links: Facebook: facebook.com/profile.php?id=61552868390256&mibextid=JRoKGi YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@highforestcommunitychurch Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/5l3baJZMvOJLYutaMDoVnv Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/hfcc-christ-centered-hope-for-todays-world/id1753425592?i=1000673790907 Rumble: https://rumble.com/user/HighForestChurch We are a Bible-Based, Jesus Only small community church located in rural South-East Minnesota. Our building was originally constructed in 1861 and is the oldest protestant church building in continuous use in our county. Many people have come and gone throughout the generations, but our goal will always remain: To Serve Jesus only, and learn from His Living Word, the Scriptures. Our small church body are all admittedly sinners, that openly strive to improve our walk daily, but also understand that we are Redeemed by the shed blood of Christ Jesus and declared innocent in God’s eyes due to Grace Alone! There is no act of baptism, charity or observation of communion that deems us worthy. No amount of following the law of Moses, or the ever-popular observation of legalism in many churches today that will save us. That is us believing in ourselves, rather than what Christ did for us completely. If you struggle with understanding the concept of salvation or are plagued by false teachings of following traditions rather than Christ alone, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We would love to help! Please watch our archive of messages on a variety of topics. Please like and share our content with others that can benefit from what God has inspired our array of speakers to bring to the body. Most importantly, be sure you are secure in your relationship with God and Christ Jesus. It is so simple. Do not wait.
