Ep. 123 // Under 21, Overachieving: The Safe Driver Apprenticeship Program

from Terminal Exchange

What were you doing at 19 years old? For Carter Fehr and Jordan Kersten, the answer is “working full-time as an OTR driver.” But wait—don’t you have to be 21 for that? Yes—unless you’re part of the FMCSA Safe Driver Apprenticeship Program (SDAP, for short). With SDAP, under-21 drivers can cross state lines and drive over the road. In the past, our industry would lose high school graduates to other skilled trades, but if successful, this program could open trucking as a career path for young people! So, why did these guys choose trucking at such a young age? What was the training like? Are there any restrictions on what they can or can’t do? How did they adjust to the trucking lifestyle? Carter and Jordan have the answers in today’s exchange, along with a fresh perspective on the career of a professional driver. Press play and enjoy! Managing Next Generation Energy Systems Cambridge University Background Stakeholders working with energy systems have to make complex decisions formulated from risk-based assessments about the future. The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation. This knowledge exchange workshop was part of the four months Res The Gold Exchange Podcast Monetary Metals Welcome to The Gold Exchange, where we untangle market and policy complexity using timeless economic principles. Lynne's Podcast Lynne August MD Dr. A offers her interpretations and applications of Dr. Revici’s profound research at DrRevici.com and the Revici Journal. Dr. Revici was arguably fifty to one hundred years ahead of his time in his application of quantum physics to medical sciences. As a once-aspiring physicist, this alone propelled Dr. A to Dr. Revici. As a physician, she felt compelled, and in some palpable way responsible, to understand Dr. Revici’s ability to control pain and achieve remissions in terminal cancer patients with his non-toxic “guided chemotherapy”, even many cancers that conventional therapy failed to control. Most of the time his questions and solutions were as unprecedented as they were effective. While Dr. Revici was primarily focused on cancer, Dr. A’s research and therapeutics to prevent and treat all chronic and degenerative disease can transform 21st century medicine.
