Ep.124 Favor in the Field

Ruth chapter 2 introduces Boaz, a man of standing in Bethlehem, and begins to reveal the powerful theme of redemption in the Book of Ruth. As Ruth seeks provision by gleaning in the fields during the harvest, she unknowingly enters the field of Boaz—a kinsman of Naomi’s family and a potential redeemer. Set against the backdrop of the chaotic time of the Judges, this chapter highlights God’s provision through ancient laws designed to protect the poor, the foreigner, and the widow.
