Ep 125: How Self-care Makes You A Better Business Leader
from THE PODCAST with Annelise Worn · host Annelise Worn
I have to admit, when I first heard about 'self care' as being an important part of the entrepreneurial journey my first thought was, yeah sure it's ok for them - they've got the revenue and momentum to be able to afford the time off. It was only by personal experience of reaching burnout that I got the memo. You MUST look after yourself. It's not a nice to have optional extra. It's vital to success - at every level. The best analogy I've heard is that of the million dollar racehorse. You've probably heard me mention it before. The racehorse is fed nutritious food. The racehorse is adequately trained. Adequately rested. Why? Because they're given the optimal circumstances to perform. The funny thing is - often we can see that this makes sense for the racehorse. But we don't think the same principles apply to us & even more so. So can self care really make you a better business leader? Heck yes! Not convinced? Listen in to this episode of the podcast! Convinced - but your calendar doesn't actually reflect these wellbeing priorities? Listen in! This one's important. Your wellbeing is important. Let's go!
